Our introductory 2.5 hour webinar ‘Understanding the Dynamics of Domestic Abuse’ has the following learning outcomes:
• Understanding the Scottish Government’s definition of domestic abuse and national policy response
• Understanding the impacts of domestic abuse through theory, research and survivor testimony
• Knowledge of the Domestic Abuse (Scotland) Act 2018, and what it means for practitioners and people experiencing domestic abuse
• Confidence working in a relational, trauma-informed manner to ensure people experiencing domestic abuse get the proper support
• Myth busting around common narratives about domestic abuse
Facilitator: Marianne Osborne has worked with Renfrewshire Women’s Aid since 2002 as a refuge worker supporting women, children and young people subjected to domestic abuse.
