Overview

The fast-approaching Scottish Parliament Election on 6th May 2021 may be one of the most important in generations; as Scotland emerges from the pandemic, begins rebuilding from the damage wrought, comes to terms with a post-Brexit reality and debates its constitutional future.

As always, the big questions about how we deliver and fund crucial services, how we tackle climate change, how we protect and expand rights, reduce poverty, improve health and education outcomes, end homelessness, tackle inequalities - and many more besides - will be very much to the fore.

The voluntary sector will have a crucial role to play in shaping this future and delivering the progressive change we all want to see. But where do Scotland’s political parties see the voluntary sector in all of this?

Join us and our special guest host, Brian Taylor, Political Commentator and Herald Columnist, as we invite leaders from Scotland’s main political parties to offer their views on the role of Scotland’s voluntary sector beyond 2021.

Confirmed panellists:

  • Patrick Harvie, Co-Leader, Scottish Green Party
  • Willie Rennie, Leader, Scottish Liberal Democrats
  • Anas Sarwar, Leader, Scottish Labour Party
  • Nicola Sturgeon, Leader, Scottish National Party
  • Douglas Ross, Leader, Scottish Conservative Party

Get Involved: We want to make sure our panellists hear about the issues affecting you and your organisation. You can submit a question for the leaders when you sign up to attend. Due to time constraints, we will only be able to ask questions that have been submitted advance.

Who is the event aimed at?
