Older veterans awareness training- video conference
Age Scotland
This event is in the past
Do you work or volunteer with a community group or service that supports older people, or armed forces veterans? Our free training can boost your ability to include and support older veterans.
There are around a quarter million veterans in Scotland, many of them older. Our interactive training looks at how to identify older members of the veterans’ community, offers an insight into military culture and issues for older veterans, and introduces you to a wealth of extra support potentially available to them in later life. Training is free, and can accommodate up to 12 participants. This is an open training session in which you will meet – virtually – with staff and volunteers from other organisations. If you would like paid staff and volunteers in your organisations to receive this training as a group please email your request to veteransproject@agescotland.org.uk.
The session will take place via Zoom video conference. Once your place has been booked you will be sent joining instructions at least one working day prior to the event.
