British Heart Foundation continue their monthly online Live & Ticking online series, this time focusing on the next cardiovascular researchers of the future.
Professor Metin Avkiran, BHF Associate Medical Director for Research, will be putting a spotlight on the next generation of cardiovascular scientists, and joined by two BHF-funded PhD students.
Alex Ainscough, PhD student at Imperial College London, is using cutting edge organ-on-a-chip technology to better understand pulmonary arterial hypertension, a chronic and debilitating condition that affects the blood vessels in the lung.
PhD student Amanda MacCannell, from University of Leeds, is investigating how fat communicates with different areas of our body and how diabetes affects this communication.
