Domestic Abuse Child Protection and Adult Protection

Scottish Women's Aid

This event is in the past

65, 251 incidents of Domestic Abuse were recorded by Police Scotland in 2020/21 however with only 1 in 5 people reporting abuse to the Police, there are far more people at risk than we see represented in Police figures. Research indicates as many as 1 in 7 children and young people and 1 in 4 women will experience domestic abuse, this can increase risks to their safety, wellbeing and development. This session will explore the links between domestic abuse and adult support and protection and how we can respond safely and in line with best practice to improve outcomes for women, children and young people impacted by domestic abuse.
