Lois Marshall
SYHA Hostelling Scotland (SYHA) has appointed Lois Marshall as youth and volunteer engagement manager. This is a new role to strengthen SYHA's youth and volunteer programmes in the run up to VisitScotland’s Year of Young People in 2018. Lois will be responsible for the development, promotion and implementation of a long term plan for SYHA youth and volunteer programmes. Most recently, Lois post as Type 1 Engagement Lead at Diabetes Scotland where her remit included managing a national young volunteer project and developing engagement with young people with Type 1 diabetes. She has also worked at Youth Scotland where she ran the Girls on the Move programme, supporting disadvantaged young women to increase their physical activity and gain leadership skills.
Tim Livesey
UK charity Embrace the Middle East has announced the appointment of Oxfam head of policy and advocacy Tim Livesey, who will be joining the organisation as its new chief executive in July. Tim, who has had a varied career in government, politics and the church, was a senior adviser to both the Archbishop of Canterbury and the Cardinal Archbishop of Westminster. He brings extensive experience of foreign policy to the organisation, having worked as a diplomat in both west and north Africa, the embassy in Paris and spending four years running Britain’s aid programme in Nigeria.
Su-Mei Thompson
Su-Mei Thompson will take up the position of chief executive of the Media Trust in September, bringing with her a wealth of experience and knowledge both from the media sector and from the non-profit space. She joins Media Trust following eight years as chief executive at The Women’s Foundation, an NGO dedicated to the advancement of women and girls in Hong Kong. Prior to this, she held senior management positions at The Walt Disney Company, the Financial Times and Christie’s in Asia.
