The Internet Watch Foundation (IWF) has announced human rights and digital policy expert Andrew Puddephatt as the charity’s new independent chair. The announcement comes as the tenure of Sir Richard Tilt, the IWF’s current chair, comes to an end after six years at the end of December. Puddephatt played a key role in the implementation of the UK’s Human Rights Act, and has been active in the promotion of human rights globally in Africa, Latin America and South and South-East Asia for more than 20 years.

Goodmovers 08/12/17 - who’s on the move in the third sector

National charity The Disabilities Trust has appointed Steve Howell as its new chairman following an election at the organisation’s annual general meeting. Steve joined the charity as a trustee in 2002 and is a former global head of information security and business continuity for a major US bank. He takes over as chair from Peter Jackson, who is retiring after serving as a trustee since 2005.

The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award has appointed Gwen Macdonald as finance and administration officer. Bringing nearly two years of experience as communications assistant at YouthLinkScotland, Gwen will continue to support the youth work sector at the DofE. She has a background in finance and customer service from her previous roles in the finance and hospitality industries.
