Ayrshire Housing’s new director of housing and communities is going back to her roots in her new role.

Alison Lamont started her life in housing with East Ayrshire Council before embarking on a career that taken her to Dumfries and Galloway and Glasgow, now she is back home.

She said: “Moving from a large organisation to a smaller, community focused association will be a culture change, but I’m really looking forward to getting to know the communities, neighbourhoods and people we support. I’m originally from Ayrshire so it’s a bit of a homecoming.”

Alison was most recently locality housing director with Wheatley Homes Glasgow.

Ayrshire Housing was established in 2003 through the merger of Carrick Housing Association and South Ayrshire Homes. Since then it has grown to become one of the area’s leading providers of high quality, affordable rented housing managing 1700 homes in both urban and rural environments.

As director of housing and communities, Alison will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight across all tenant services, housing management, community engagement and support functions.

Lesley-Anne Junner, Ayrshire Housing’s chief executive, said: “Alison’s role is central to delivering the organisation’s mission of providing high-quality, affordable homes and building vibrant, inclusive communities across Ayrshire and I’m delighted to welcome her.”
