Mental Health Aberdeen have stopped operations.

An Aberdeen charity has appointed liquidators after stopping services.

Mental Health Aberdeen have appointed Michael Reid of accounting and business advisory group MHA.

The liquidator said it has become clear “he only realistic option was to cease service provision and move to liquidation.”

Mr Reid said: “After careful review of Mental Health Aberdeen’s financial condition, it became clear that the only realistic option was to cease service provision and move to liquidation.

“My team and I will work with the charity where possible to assist in any transfer of services.

“I appreciate that this is devastating for Mental Health Aberdeen, its staff, volunteers and service users, particularly in this, its 75th year. This is an extremely sad situation.”

MHA accounting and business advisory firm is an AIM listed company, ranked the 13th largest accountancy group in the UK and Republic of Ireland.

Its Scottish offices are based in Aberdeen’s Carden Place and Edinburgh’s St Colme Street.
