Worked with social enterprises and charities for more than 20 years

Founder and CEO of social enterprise, The Circle, has been featured in the WISE100 list for the third time.

The list, produced every year by NatWest Social & Community Capital, recognises the UK’s leading women in social enterprise and impact investing.

Kirsty Thomson is the only Dundee-based social entrepreneur on the list. She was featured on the list in 2018, 2022 and again this year.

She has worked with charities, social enterprises and community groups for more than 20 years and has raised over £14million for a number of organisations.

Thomson launched her first business, ACK Third Sector Consultants CIC, in 2012 and then launched The Circle in 2016, merging the businesses in 2019.

The Circle is a social enterprise that offers fair-rent workspace, business support and volunteering opportunities. The organisation has hubs in Dundee and Glasgow and recently revived Dundee’s former Shopmobility service where it lends out mobility devices for free to allow people to travel across the city.

Thomson said: “There are so many amazing women working in social enterprise in the UK, I’m honoured to be recognised alongside them.”
