Katherine Crawford will join the team after 19 years in the sector.

A leading Scottish charity has appointed an interim chief executive.

Katherine Crawford will join Age Scotland as interim CEO looking to “focus her energy now to ensure every single older person in Scotland is confident that their voice is heard”.

Katherine previously worked at Parkinson’s UK, including seven years as country director for Scotland.

In a statement, the charity said: “We are delighted to welcome Katherine Crawford to Age Scotland as interim CEO.

“Katherine comes to Age Scotland having served in a number of senior roles with Parkinson’s UK, including seven years as country director for Scotland working closely with the Scottish government and key agencies in Scotland as well as building successful partnerships with funders.

“With 19 years of experience in the charity sector, Katherine has seen first-hand the challenges older people can face through that work and it is seeing the impact of charities like ours that energises and inspires her.

“Bringing experience of influencing and campaigning, working with volunteers and colleagues in developing and delivering services to benefit people wherever they live, Katherine is keen to focus her energy now to ensure every single older person in Scotland is confident that their voice is heard and knows that we are here.”
