Leading animal charities OneKind and Hessilhead Wildlife Rescue Trust have announced a new partnership in a bid to do more for Scotland’s wildlife.

The two charities will work on joint fundraising and supporter engagement activities with the aim of furthering their work to protect, rescue and rehabilitate more animals in Scotland.

OneKind Director Harry Huyton said: “We’re delighted to announce this partnership with Hessilhead Wildlife Rescue. This is a positive step forward for both organisations and I believe we’ll be able to complement each other well as we continue our work to help Scotland’s wildlife.

“Our charities share the same vision of a Scotland that respects and looks after its wildlife. Hessilhead does a fantastic job of looking after Scotland’s sick, injured and orphaned wildlife, whilst OneKind works to end to solve the root causes of the problem through research, campaigns and advocacy. By working together we can cover the full breadth of what needs to be done to protect Scotland’s wildlife.”

In a joint statement, Hessilhead founders Andy and Gay Christie said: “We are delighted to be embarking on a partnership with OneKind, an organisation that strives tirelessly and successfully to make Scotland a safer place for wildlife. Hessilhead will continue to rehabilitate injured and orphaned wild birds and animals. Together we will do more for Scotland’s wildlife.”

OneKind is Scotland’s leading animal campaigns charity which carries out advocacy and campaigns to improve animal protection. Hessilhead Wildlife Rescue is based near Beith, in North Ayrshire.

The charity provides wildlife rescue and rehabilitation services and educates the public on wildlife care.
