The dress, donated to a Marie Curie shop, is now being sold in a silent auction to raise funds for the charity
Blushing brides in Edinburgh should waltz down to the Marie Curie charity shop in the city’s Corstorphine area to see if they can bag a bargain.
An unworn, designer dress worth £1,500 has been donated to the St John's Road shop and is currently on display in the shop’s window.
The size 14 dress (pictured) has been donated by bridal wear retailer Berketex Bride and is the prize in a silent auction to raise funds for the Marie Curie charity.
The auction ends on 22 August but shop manager Alison Smith is urging all brides to be to make sure they don’t miss out on the chance of snapping up the dress at a fraction of the original retail price.
“This is a lovely donation from Berketex Bride,” she said.
“There’s someone out there that’s meant to have this beautiful dress and we’re looking forward to uniting them.”
The dress was donated by Berketex Bride’s Edinburgh shop on Frederick Street as part of the company’s charity initiative.
Natalie Lang from Berketex Bride Edinburgh said: “It is wonderful to be able to give support back to a charity that supports so many others in their time of need and be able to give another bride a stunning designer wedding dress for their perfect day."
In the pictures the dress is modelled by 17 year old Maria Usova-Sinclair who volunteers every week in the shop as part of her Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.
