With 20 brand new designer wedding dresses up for grabs, brides-to-be cannot afford to miss the upcoming Shelter Scotland fashion show in Dundee

Dundonian brides-to-be are turning Bridezilla in a bid to grab one of a treasure trove of designer wedding dresses that have been donated to a local charity shop.

Staff at the Shelter Scotland store were stunned when they received £15,000 worth of dresses from local Annarose Bridal Boutique.

The dresses are of extremely high quality and mean that some lucky brides can have a beautiful gown at a bargain price

And to keep it fair, the dresses are being kept under wraps until the 30 October, when they will be on sale at the Shelter Scotland fashion show in the city.

There are 20 top-classes dresses availabe, all of which have neve been worn before.

John Sinclair, Shelter Scotland shops regional manager, said: “When we were organising our fashion show we thought it would be a dream come true to be able to top it off with a wedding dress. When Annarose came back to say we could have 20 it was unbelievable.

“The dresses are of extremely high quality and mean that some lucky brides can have a beautiful gown at a bargain price, knowing that they are helping people escape the misery of homelessness at the same time.”

Anne Elder, owner of Annarose Bridal said: “As a bridal boutique owner I get to see people prepare for one of the happiest days of their lives. It is lovely to be able to contribute to people who face some of the toughest challenges – like not having a home at all or having one they can’t rely on.”

The Shelter Scotland fashion show takes place at the Queen’s Hotel on the 30 October from 1pm until 5pm. Tickets cost £5 and are on sale in the Shelter Scotland shops in Dundee and Broughty Ferry.

Tickets include a glass of Prosecco and nibbles. Local businesses Pela hairdressing, Bella gift shop and Butterflies beauty shop will all also have stalls.
