The Caring Christmas Trees initiative is returning for a 15th year
A homeless charity is giving shoppers the chance to save a life this winter by purchasing a Christmas tree.
The Caring Christmas Trees project from the Bethany Christian Trust is returning for a 15th year.
Sustainably grown in Scotland, grade one Nordman fir trees will be sold, with all funds raised directly supporting the charity’s care shelter and other winter projects. Bethany’s Winter Care Shelter provides a hot meal and a safe place to sleep for those with nowhere to go during the coldest months of the year.
The social enterprise is selling trees in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Fife at various pickup locations in December. The firs are also available for delivery at the end of November in both Edinburgh and Glasgow.
Susan Smith, project coordinator at the Bethany Christian Trust, said: “I am delighted to see Bethany’s Caring Christmas Trees project back on this year. For the past 15 years, we have been giving folk across Scotland the chance to make a purchase with purpose. Of course you could buy your tree elsewhere; but with Caring Christmas Trees you not only get a beautiful real tree, you get to make a difference in someone's life.”
Established in 1983, Bethany Christian Trust supports over 7,000 people across Scotland. The charity’s services focus on preventing homelessness as well as alleviating the suffering of people who are homeless.
