Charities are being asked to fill out a survey on their experiences of TSIs – good or bad
Charities and voluntary organisations are being asked for their input into a government review of third sector interfaces (TSI).
The Scottish Government has commissioned a survey as part of a review into the TSI network model and Voluntary Action Scotland (VAS).
It asks charities to evaluate the role, function, effectiveness and impact of TSIs and VAS and also aims to explore what the future direction and approach to third sector support in Scotland should be at local level.
A spokesperson for the Scottish Government, said: “The TSI network model and VAS are key parts of the current third sector infrastructure in Scotland.
It is important to gain a sense of what is working and what is not
“With this in mind, it is important to gain a sense of what is working and what is not around how the TSI network model and VAS are operating, the impact they are having, and what would contribute to improvement in this infrastructural context eg what changes, if any, ought to be considered to ensure an effective infrastructure is in place to enhance the success of the third sector.
“The Scottish Government is encouraging everyone to put forward their views on how volunteers, social enterprises, voluntary organisations should be supported at local level and the effectiveness of the arrangements for ensuring that the third sector can influence and inform decision making at local level."
Blake Stevenson and Arrivo Consulting, who were commissioned to create the survey, are building up case studies of TSIs in 11 different locations in Scotland.
These case study areas are: Borders, Clackmannanshire, Dundee, East Ayrshire, East Lothian, East Renfrewshire, Glasgow, Highland, North Lanarkshire, Orkney and Perth and Kinross.
