Salary cut comes as part of a wider management restructure
Karl Wilding, the chief executive of the National Council for Voluntary Organisations (NCVO), has taken a £25,000 voluntary pay cut.
The recently installed boss has taken the hit amid a shake-up of umbrella body's senior management team.
When Wilding’s predecessor Sir Stuart Etherington retired, the job was advertised at £145,218.
However Wilding has requested the salary for chief executive was at the lower end of its pay scale, set at £120,000.
NCVO said: "This was a request Karl made to the committee, which they agreed to. No other salaries at NCVO are affected."
As part of the management restructure NCVO director of strategy and planning, Susan Cordingley will be taking on the role of deputy chief executive.
Cordingley joined the organisation in 2016, having previously worked at NCVO from 1996 to 2001, after which she moved to a senior management role at Guide Dogs.
She will take on responsibility for membership from director of membership and enterprise, Richard Williams, who is stepping down from his role after 13 years. He plans to take up part-time consultancy and non-executive roles in the new year.
And NCVO’s current head of digital, data and planning, Megan Griffith Gray has been appointed director of strategy and transformation and will take on Coringley's responsibilities for strategy and planning.
Head of policy and public services, Elizabeth Chamberlain will take on the role of director and public policy and volunteering until the new year when Sarah Vibert will be joining on an interim 12-month contract.
