Charity signs deal with venture capital firm

The Winning Scotland Foundation has renewed its relationship with Scottish Equity Partners

A charity which uses the power of Olympic athletes as role models to help children in Scotland achieve their best has announced it has signed a new deal with a leading venture capital firm.

Scottish Equity Partners (SEP) is to continue as a corporate patron of the Winning Scotland Foundation after it made a donated an undisclosed financial figure.

The firm is also providing the foundation with free access to its public relations services in a bid to widen its reach.

The foundation runs a number of innovative projects including Champions in Scotland, which sees Olympic and Paralympic athletes visit schools and community groups to speak to young children.

Sir Chris Hoy and current Olympian Katherine Grainger are honorary patrons of the charity.

Morag Arnot, executive director of the Winning Scotland Foundation, said: “We are delighted that SEP has recognised our efforts and are grateful for their renewed support.

“With the launch of our Champions in Scotland online service and our work on the Positive Coaching Scotland and Mindset in Education programmes we have been striving to achieve our own personal best.

“The backing of organisations like SEP helps us to do that and make a difference to more young people in Scotland.”
