A special concert will be held in New York to remember Frightened Rabbit frontman Scott Hutchison

A band are set to form a charity in memory of one of their former members who died suddenly.

Frightened Rabbit singer Scott Hutchison was found dead this spring, having suffered with poor mental health.

A celebration of the 36-year-old’s life will take place in New York in December, with the event being the first fundraiser for a charity which will be founded in the singer’s memory.

Scott’s brother and fellow Frightened Rabbit member Grant Hutchison revealed the plans on twitter this week.

He tweeted: "The Scott Hutchison Fund has been set up in memory of our beloved Scott. It will form the basis for a mental health charity to be set up fully in the coming months. We hope to be able to help others the way Scott did with kindness, empathy and hope.”

The concert, which takes place at Rough Trade in Brooklyn on 5 December, will feature performances from Death Cab for Cutie’s Ben Gibbard and the National’s Aaron Dessner.

All proceeds from the intimate concert will go towards the fund. Tickets for Tiny Changes: A Celebration Of the Songs of Scott Hutchison go on sale on Friday (2 November).
