Volunteers held a Mad Hatter’s tea party to kick-start the build up to Aberlour's popular Strictly Come Prancing event

Influenced by Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, Aberlour’s prancers took to the board room of sponsors CompanyNet for the launch of the Strictly Come Prancing event.

The evening itself will be taking place at the Sheraton Hotel in Edinburgh on Saturday 20 September, and organisers promise fun, entertainment and fine dining.

This is going to be a wonderful evening with champagne, fine dining and some brilliant dancing. It’s going to be unmissable

It is being sponsored by CompanyNet and supported by Microsoft, with monies raised going towards Aberlour Family Outreach – Edinburgh, a service which works with families across the city who are experiencing difficulties with substance use.

Tickets are priced at £70 per person and will include a champagne reception, followed by a three course dinner.

This will then be followed by a live dance show, with couples made up of the great and good of Edinburgh, each of whom will be performing a specially choreographed dance routine.

The couples will be judged by a panel of well-known individuals, names of whom will be released in the summer.

At the end of the evening, the audience will be able to vote for their favourite couple who will be crowned Edinburgh Strictly Come Prancing Winners 2014. The dance floor will then be opened to all guests with live music and DJ until the wee small hours.

Aberlour Fundraiser Nicola Gandy said: “We're thrilled to be bringing Strictly Come Prancing back to Edinburgh this year.

“This is going to be a wonderful evening with champagne, fine dining and some brilliant dancing. It’s going to be unmissable. We’ve got so many great couples to dance the night away, and not only that, but we're lining up some fantastic Edinburgh names to judge the dancers – but you’ll have to wait to find out who they are!”

Tickets are available now for Strictly Come Prancing which takes place on the evening of 20 September at The Sheraton, Edinburgh.
