Fred MacAuley, Des Clarke, Jo Caulfield, Mark Nelson, Joe Heenan and Rob Deering will take part at the event at the Stand in Glasgow

A star-studded comedy night is being held to raise funds for Parkinson’s UK next month.

Shake with Laughter will take place at the Stand in Glasgow on 22 November.

Top comics Fred MacAuley, Des Clarke, Jo Caulfield, Mark Nelson, Joe Heenan and Rob Deering will take the stage for the event.

The show is the latest in the Shake with Laughter series of comedy nights organised by comedian Rob Deering, whose father Barney has lived with Parkinson’s for many years.

Rob, who will be MC for the evening, is delighted that he’s recruited such a stellar line up for the first Shake with Laughter in Scotland. He said: “The Shake with Laughter series has grown year on year, and I wanted to spread the magic to Glasgow because it’s such a great city for comedy, and audiences are so generous and responsive.

‘I’ve persuaded some hilarious comedy pals to help me. Fred and Des are two of the biggest names in Scottish comedy and Jo, Mark, and Joe are incredibly talented and popular too – I can’t wait to join the audience and see them in action”.

Every ticket sold will support Parkinson’s UK’s We Won’t Wait fundraising campaign, which is raising funds to find new and better treatments. Tickets are on sale now.
