Fundraising body Comic Relief is looking for new candidates for its UK grants committee and is interested in applications from Scotland.
Comic Relief is recruiting people for its UK Grants Committee and is particularly looking for applications from Scotland.
The money raised by Comic Relief supports some of the poorest and most disadvantaged people in the UK and around the world.
The fundraising body believes that spending money well is as hard as raising it, and is looking for people with a wide range of third sector experience to sit on its grants committee.
The UK grants committee is accountable to Comic Relief’s board of trustees for the governance of the grants portfolio. Responsibilities include scrutiny and oversight of the grants team’s delivery of the strategy, reporting to trustees on delivery, outcomes and learning and overseeing the risk profile of applications and grants.
All candidates should have a broad knowledge and strategic overview of the UK voluntary sector (or parts of it) and be familiar with issues and challenges in the current climate.
Comic Relief is particularly looking for people who will bring skills and experience in UK grant making, policy and social change, and service user movements. Knowledge of social investment and experience of cross sector working would also be welcome.
