Community projects encouraged to apply for funding from new trust

£1.4 million Postcode Community Trust to support community and grassroots projects

A new £1.4 million charity fund has been launched by the People’s Postcode Lottery.

Postcode Community Trust, is a grant giving charity created to support local community based, grassroots projects.

Opened on Monday, the fund will award support for projects that engage in environmental protection, community development, sport, health, promotion of human rights and prevention of poverty.

Charities and community groups are able to apply for funding ranging from £500 - £20,000 to deliver projects that positively impact their local community.

Joe Ray, trust manager of Postcode Community Trust, said: “The first funding round of Postcode Community Trust is open to charities and good causes across Scotland, Wales and the North of England and will allow an additional 400 local, community projects to be supported by players of People’s Postcode Lottery each year.”
