Agreement will give councils opportunity to use Young Scot’s services.

Young people across Scotland are set to benefit from a new partnership between Cosla and Young Scot.

Under the agreement, local authorities will be able to use Young Scot’s services and National Entitlement Card to deliver new and innovative ways to support young people.

The partnership will also include a programme of shared learning events across Scotland, information roadshows, and a national conference.

This work will help to support inclusive growth, increase wellbeing and reduce child and young person poverty.

Young Scot said the partnership would mean more opportunities for local communities to take advantage of its services.

Louise Macdonald, Young Scot CEO, said: “We’re thrilled to be embarking on an official collaboration with Cosla’s Children and Young People Board. By working together, we can make even more impact in local communities across Scotland.”

Cosla chief executive Sally Loudon added: “Cosla’s collaboration with Young Scot is a real opportunity to showcase the benefits partnership working already brings the length and breadth of Scotland.

“Importantly, this joint work will support the work that local government is already doing in tackling child poverty and increasing the wellbeing of all of our young people.”
