​Ewan Aitken is to take questions on new conflict resolution service

The chief executive of an Edinburgh based charity is to take to social media to help families across Scotland sort out problems in their relationships.

We’ve said we want to get Scotland talking, and this is one way to do it!

Ewan Aitken, who recently took up his post at Edinburgh Cyrenians, will log in to Twitter tomorrow from 4 – 5pm to discuss the charity’s latest service the Scottish Centre for Conflict Resolution (SCCR).

The SCCR aims to help young people, parents and practitioners across Scotland together by working with them to develop skills to reduce household arguments, which can often lead to homelessness, or direct them towards professional help, if required.

Aitken is inviting third sector workers and members of the public to ask a range of questions, hopefully covering what the charity does, why it set up the new SCCR and what his hopes are for the charity’s future.

Speaking ahead of the event, Aitken said: “I’m looking forward to answering questions from young people, parents and those who work with families and homelessness in the third sector about our new centre and our work as a whole.

“This will be a great way for us to engage with people about our work directly and openly using social media. We’ve said we want to get Scotland talking, and this is one way to do it!”
