Thenumber of people diagnosed with diabetes in the UK has increased to more than 3.2 million in 2013, according to figures released by Diabetes UK.
That’s an increase of more than 163,000 compared to 2012, the biggest single year increase since 2008 – and worryingly does not include people with undiagnosed type 2 diabetes, warned the charity. Diabetes UK is calling for people to undergo an NHS health check and urgent improvements to be made to the hospital care for diabetic patients.
