East Lothian charity in desperate race to rehome 500 hens

Wing and a Prayer Hen Rescue SCIO have until August 3.

An animal rights charity has put out a desperate plea for support as they look to rehome hundreds of hens within a matter of weeks.

Wing and a Prayer Hen Rescue SCIO have said 500 birds need to be rehomed by August 3.

The Haddington-based charity has said they have promised to take the entire flock, and are pleading with the public for help.

Writing on social media, the charity said: “We have 500 hens needing homes on 3rd August.

“We have promised to take every single one so we need your help. Do you have space in your coop for an extra couple of hens?”
