The Edinburgh Guarantee is looking for organisations to be paired with young people who are keen to gain work experience

Voluntary sector organisations are being given the chance to connect with young people who are looking to gain an insight into working life.

The Edinburgh Guarantee is looking for organisations to offer work placements for young people aged 16 – 24 years.

There is no cost involved in organisations taking part, with wages paid to the young workers as part of the partnership.

The young people will be paid at Scottish Local Government Living Wage rate of £9.34 per hour, which will be paid monthly by The City of Edinburgh Council.  Placements can be between 16 and 30 hours per week and will last for 26 weeks.

Start dates are likely to be in the autumn and entry level posts are likely to be suitable for those taking part.

To find out more, contact Claire Bee at Claire.bee@edinburgh.gov.uk or call 07935 009 924 by 20 September.

The Edinburgh Guarantee was established in 2011 to address the needs of school leavers who were unable to move into a positive destination following the last economic downturn. It is led by City of Edinburgh Council, with support from employers across the city.
