The Centre for Excellence for Looked After Children in Scotland has hosted its annual Christmas card contest

Hundreds of children who are in care across Scotland have taken part in an annual Christmas card competition.

The Centre for Excellence for Looked After Children in Scotland (CELCIS) received 175 entries for the contest, with some amazing designs submitted.

Amanda from East Park School in Glasgow scooped first prize with her amazing snowmen picture and wins a £50 voucher. There were also five runners up, who each received a £10 voucher and every entrant was sent a certificate for taking part.

Staff at CELCIS judge the competition and said that it is one of the highlights of their year.

Claire Burns, director of programmes and services, said: "A huge congratulations to Amanda for winning our Christmas card competition. We loved the painting and it makes a fantastic e-card for CELCIS. The quality and variety of entries this year was amazing and we’re delighted to have something so colourful to send to our colleagues and friends across the world.”
