Brian Sloan, formerly of Age Scotland, will join Sporting Memories in February

The former CEO of Age Scotland will join a UK social enterprise from next month with a particular focus in Scotland.

Sporting Memories announced that Brian Sloan will be joining the organisation on 6 February 2023 to take up the position of development director.

Brian has been the CEO of Age Scotland for over a decade and has overseen the leadership of the national charity as they increased their support for older people throughout the past 10 years.

This was particularly highlighted during the Covid-19 pandemic where Age Scotland supported thousands of older people alongside their families and carers who were affected or isolated during the lockdowns.

Brian’s new role with Sporting Memories will see him predominantly focus his efforts in Scotland and how we can expand our network of clubs in the region as well as creating new partnerships that will enable the long-term development of our services to older people.

He said: “I have always had a huge admiration of Sporting Memories so I am delighted to be joining such a fantastic organisation.

“I hope my passion for sport and experience of working with older people will support the continued growth of Sporting Memories in Scotland allowing its older people to stay connected with their love for sport.  

“Being physically, mentally and socially engaged is vital for your health and wellbeing and Sporting Memories key offerings provide participants with these essential opportunities.”
