Glasgow Street Aid praised volunteers and police after the incident.
A Glasgow charity has made an urgent call for donations after their city centre site was forced to close due to damage caused by a member of the public.
Glasgow Street Aid (GSA) have said they will be unable to reopen their Union Street site in the city until repairs are made to their reception area.
GSA provides immediate and essential pre-hospital medical and welfare support to those in need in Glasgow each weekend, with volunteers qualified in a range of clinical qualifications.
The charity said damage was caused to the reception window and are pleading with the public for financial support to allow them to reopen.
In a statement, the charity said: “This weekend a member of the public who self presented to our medical centre in need of medical (assistance) became aggressive and caused criminal damage to our reception window.
“We are unable to open our medical centre to patients until this is fixed.
“A massive thank you to our medical centre volunteers who handled this situation with professionalism and continued to provide medical assistance to the individual and thank you to Police Scotland Greater Glasgow for responding to this in a timely and professional manner.”
