A charity has teamed up with a craft beer company to create unique shelters for hedgehogs
Hedgehogs are set to be offered some shelter from the old next winter – in tiny custom built pubs.
Craft beer gurus Camden Town Brewery have teamed up with the British Hedgehog Preservation Society (BHPS) to launch a range of pub-shaped hideaways for the critters.
The Hibernation Arms hideaways offer hedgehogs a place to sleep in winter and to give birth to hoglets in summer.
The brewery and charity have been in partnership since the end of last year, with £10,000 already raised from the sale of a special beer.
Fay Vass, chief executive of the BHPS, said: “Hedgehog populations have declined by half in rural areas and by a third in urban ones in the past 20 years so they need all the help they can get.
“The funds and awareness this collaboration raises will help us help hedgehogs.”
