Help mould the future of the third sector

SCVO is calling on organisations to complete its State of the Sector survey, embedded below, to help it lobby for a better future for all Scotland's third sector

Growth plans, new enterprises, funding fears or downsizing – whatever 2019 has in store for you charity, the Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations (SCVO) wants to know about it.

SCVO is carrying out research into the opportunities and challenges facing the Scottish third sector over the next 12 months.

Create your own user feedback survey

It’s asking organisations whether they are optimistic or pessimistic about the future. It wants to know if your organisation will have more or less money coming in, whether you are starting new projects, or closing old ones.

It’s also interested in staff and whether you are recruiting or downsizing.

The SCVO State of the Sector survey is a major two-year research project that helps create a picture of the mood of Scotland’s third sector. It helps SCVO to determine what it needs to do to help organisations grow – whether that’s lobbying for better funding terms, tackling public procurement problems or highlighting the challenges of recruiting and retaining good quality staff.

The more people who fill in the survey, the easier it is for SCVO to use it as a tool to highlight the issues facing Scotland’s third sector to national and local government and other stakeholders.

Anna Fowlie, SCVO chief executive, said: “We know that charities, social enterprises and voluntary organisations have some common worries – Brexit in particular is causing a great deal of uncertainty for everyone – and many are still tackling issues that feel intractable, like homelessness and poverty.

“But we also know that each organisation has its own individual challenges, achievements and plans for the future. If SCVO is to accurately represent and support our members and the wider third sector in Scotland, we need to know what these are.”

The survey takes just a few minutes to complete above or visiting the survey page directly.
