The 2016 LGBT Pride march and rally takes place in Livingston town centre on Saturday

Hundreds of people are expected to attend the second annual West Lothian LGBT Pride event on Saturday.

This year’s march starts at 12pm at Howden Park Centre in Livingston before setting off through the town centre.

Speakers will include Mr Gay Scotland, Jamie Love, who is leading the march, Ricky Adam and Lewis Dougan of the Glitter Cannons youth group and local councillors, volunteers and community workers.

The march will culminate with a rally featuring live music and stalls run by LGBT Youth Scotland, Stonewall, Gay Men’s Health, Roam Outreach, Free Pride, Police Scotland and Legal Spark.

Organisers said the 2016 event will be bigger and better than last year’s celebrations.

A spokesman said: “The first West Lothian Pride was a great success. All are invited to attend this vibrant and inclusive event, whether or not they identify as part of the LGBT community.

“Friends and allies are especially welcome.”
