The entry deadline for one of the biggest community awards in the country is fast approaching but there is still time to get your nomination in.

The Inverclyde Community Awards 2015 are inviting nominations across nine categories up until 21 September.

Run by Scottish Charity of the Year finalists CVS Inverclyde, alongside Trust Volunteering Inverclyde, the Reach for the Stars awards celebrate the achievements of local volunteers, charities, social enterprises and voluntary organisations in Inverclyde.

Categories include best voluntary organisation and best volunteer. There are also categories for young volunteers and sports and health workers.

Three nominations in each category will be shortlisted as finalists and invited to an awards dinner on 4 November where the nine winners will be revealed.

A people’s vote will be opened on 1 October for the Voluntary Organisation of the Year category.

Ian Bruce, executive officer of CVS Inverclyde, said: “Through Reach for the Stars we want to pay tribute to those who excel in service provision and support for their local community, while delivering a significant contribution to our local economy.

“With the spirit of Inverclyde’s third sector community alive and kicking, we look forward to joining with our awards sponsors to recognise and reward their many achievements.”

Nomination forms can be found on the CVS Inverclyde website.
