Achamore Gardens on Gigha was hit hard by Storm Éowyn.
An island heritage trust has raised more than £16,000 towards rebuilding a community-owned garden which was decimated during Storm Éowyn.
Isle of Gigha Heritage Trust is looking to raise £60,000 to support Achamore Gardens, where more than 100 trees were damaged during the extremely high winds on January 24.
The site was first opened in the mid-20th century but is now owned by the community of Gigha, with just five people making up the team at Achamore.
The GoFundMe page for Achamore, posted last week, has now surpassed £16,000.
The gardens posted on social media: “Unfortunately Achamore has suffered a grievous blow at the hand of Storm Éowyn and the damage is severe and widespread across the whole site.
“More than 100 trees have fallen or suffered serious damage and there's hardly a single path that doesn't have a tree down on it, or dangerous, hung up trees and branches overhead. We've lost precious shrubs and plants, including some of the original rhododendrons planted by Sir James Horlick when he first created the Achamore that we know and love.
“We will recover, we will reopen, and we will come back stronger than ever. The most important thing is that no one was hurt or worse, and the vast majority of our buildings have also escaped damage.
“Together we can pull Achamore back from the brink, repair the damage, and get those closed gates open again!”
