Daily deals service itison has launched a new charity initiative which will provide respite for the people charities support and their volunteers

Volunteers and the vulnerable are set to benefit from treats such as days out and slap-up meals.

Daily deals service and online marketing company, itison has announced the launch of its major new charity initiative, itison us.

With a mission to spread smiles to thousands of people who need it most each month, itison us will focus on the power of respite and giving amazing experiences.

itison us will matchmake local charities with businesses to give them great experiences: a night away; dinners; family days out. Charities can then use these vouchers to provide respite for the people they support, the volunteers giving their time to the charity or to fundraise.

itison us launches initially in Glasgow, supporting three great local charities in the first month: Home Start Glasgow North; The Haven Centre Blantyre and The Coming Home Centre, with a plan to roll out across other cities shortly.

Oli Norman, chief executive at itison, said: “When you think about charity you don’t often think about the power of respite or giving a smile, that’s exactly what itison us will do.

“Every day tens of thousands of our members enjoy incredible experiences that put a smile on their faces. We’re extending that mission to those people who need it most – people going through tough times and the volunteers that work tirelessly to help make their lives better.

“Every month we’ll donate hundreds of vouchers to brilliant local charities to use for those experiencing hardship – to enjoy a meal out or an overnight stay – something to give them and their families respite from what they’re going through – all on us and the amazing businesses we work with.

“itison members don’t need to do anything – we’re not only going to donate if you buy something or ask you to pay anything at all. We’re not doing this to increase sales, we’re doing it because we can.”

Itison us will support charities that are doing great work locally. With 1.5 million itison members across the UK, itison us will not only be donating vouchers, but also putting the spotlight on these small, local charities and raising awareness of the work they do.

Having raised over £2million for Social Bite, itison is on a mission to do more good in each community it works and lives in. itison will absorb all admin costs and labour, making it simple for businesses and charities to get involved.
