VOX Scotland have brought Natalie Stevenson into the role.
A Scottish mental health charity has announced the appointment of new manager Natalie Stevenson.
VOX Scotland is mental health charity run by and for people who have experienced mental health difficulties.
Natalie will be recognised by many within the third sector, with over fourteen years experience running small charities in Scotland.
Until now, Natalie’s professional positions have been mainly with environmental organisations, however in a voluntary capacity Natalie has also spent many years working in the mental health sector.
VOX Scotland are working to to amplify voices of lived experience through engaging with the Scottish Government, producing research, and organising events for members to connect and learn.
The charity believes there is no “one size fits all” approach to mental health and that’s why VOX Scotland is committed to providing an inclusive, supportive environment where people can share their thoughts and have their voices heard.
Any individual with a lived experience of mental illness (past or present) can join VOX Scotland as a member for free. A ‘formal’ medical diagnosis is not required.
Natalie said: “I am delighted to be joining the members of VOX Scotland, the board, and staff team, during an exciting time for the organisation.
“We are uniquely positioned to make meaningful changes to Scottish mental health policy and services by ensuring that the voices of those with experience are truly heard by decision-makers. It’s a privilege to be joining such a strong team.”
