Third sector workers are being given the chance to gain a qualification in mental health awareness
Third sector workers are being given the chance to undertake mental health training.
The Skills Network has secured funding to enable adults to undertake a nationally recognised mental health qualification.
The initiative will give participants the chance to understand mental health conditions and tackle the stigma attached to people with mental health problems.
The network’s commercial director James Earl said: “Mental health problems are a growing public health concern, prevalent not just in the UK, but worldwide, with an estimated one in six people experiencing a common mental health problem each week.
“The nationally recognised qualification will be delivered to a number of mental health champions via distance learning, meaning that everyone interested can complete the 10-12 week course and also continue with work and social commitments.”
