Police have deemed that no crimes were committed after being made aware of sexual harassment claims
A police probe into misconduct at the Scottish Youth Parliament (SYP) has come to an end.
Officers have ruled that no criminality took place after examining complaints about current and ex-members of the SYP.
Police were contacted in November of last year after bosses at the charity were made aware of a set of historic allegations.
Police Scotland confirmed this week that its investigations into claims of sexual harassment have ended.
A spokeswoman said: “Police Scotland was contacted by the Scottish Youth Parliament concerning possible inappropriate conduct by some of its members and former members.
“A number of people have been spoken to and enquiries have now concluded with no criminality established.
"Any new information which may be received will be assessed and investigated appropriately."
The complaints were referred to police after a Buzzfeed News report raised questions over the way that an investigation into alleged harassment was handled by the charity.
Following the report, former SYP chairman Jordan Linden said he was stepping aside from his role as a North Lanarkshire councillor and maintained that he had already been cleared of any wrong-doing.
Third Force News contacted SYP for comment but had not received a response at time of publication.
The youth parliament represents the rights of young people, with 32 MSPs aged between 14 and 25 elected to represent constituencies.
