The Robertson Trust is entering the final stages of development of a new £5 million facility in Stirling
A new £5 million third sector hub is set to open later this year.
The Robertson Trust announced plans for to create shared office accommodation and meeting space by converting three buildings at old army barracks in Stirling two years ago.
And renovation of the landmark buildings in Forthside is moving into the final phase, with a host of organisations set to move in to the new centre.
All office space in the hub has been taken, with Aberlour, Paths 4 All and Enable amongst the charities that will move in shortly.
Alongside office accommodation, there will also be conference space for events for up to 200 people.
Venue manager Fiona Jamieson said the trust is looking forward to the project reaching completion.
She said: “It’s been just over two years since we first announced plans for our new charity hub in Stirling and I’m delighted to say it’s been all systems go in recent months as we prepare for our opening later this year.
“The buildings have been developed to offer high-quality office space, low cost meeting room hire and enjoyable work spaces for third sector organisations.
“Through our existing charity hub in Glasgow, which recently celebrated its sixth birthday, we have seen first-hand the benefits of creating a space like this for Scotland’s charities and social enterprises to work and grow together. Meanwhile, our investment in Stirling reflects the trust's commitment to supporting Scotland’s vibrant third sector in ways that extend beyond traditional grant-making.”
The trust has partnered with Stirling Council to create the hub, which is part of wider redevelopment plans for the area around Stirling station.
