What role does people power have in Scottish politics? find out here...
People power has the potential to transform politics in Scotland, a major conference has heard.
The Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations (SCVO) Gathering event heard from a distinguished panel as part of a discussion which looked at policy and protest in the age of the internet and social media.
Those taking part were Cat Boyd of RISE, Scotland’s left alliance, Stewart Kirkpatrick of 38 Degrees, Daily Record editor Murray Foote and Dr Richard Dixon of Friends of the Earth Scotland.
Among the insights gained was an exclusive look at how the Daily Record’s infamous eve of referendum Vow story came about.
Meanwhile, Kirkpatrick revealed the inner workings of the Yes Scotland social media campaign, Dixon talked about the recent climate protests in Paris and Boyd told how she spearheaded the recent RooshV protests against misogyny and rape culture.
