X Factor’s Nicholas McDonald launches ticket sales for this year’s Yorkhill Christmas Concert
The X-Factor finalist and young ambassador for Yorkhill Children’s Charity, Nicky McDonald, raised some early festive cheer by visiting the children’s hospital to help launch the sale of tickets to this year’s Yorkhill Christmas Concert which will take place on Sunday 14 December.
It’s a return to Yorkhill for Nicky, who suffers from the rare and life threatening heart condition Long QT syndrome.
The popular singer spent time as a patient on the cardiology ward at Yorkhill so is fully committed to this year’s Christmas campaign to encourage the people of Scotland to support children being treated at Yorkhill and its related services.
Nicky commented: “Christmas is an extra special time of year for the children being treated at Yorkhill and the charity always goes that little bit further to make a difference for them.
“I still get so excited in the run up to Christmas! I don’t want the patients to miss out on any of this excitement so I hope as many people as possible purchase tickets for the Christmas concert or help in whatever way they can to support the charity and bring lots of festive cheer to Yorkhill.”
Nicky is just one of many great acts who will be performing at this year’s concert.
Hosting the event will be BBC Scotland’s Jackie Bird and other performances will include the Scottish Police Choir, the Kirkintilloch Male Voice Choir and the Riverside Youth Band.
The concert, a key event in the charities fundraising calendar, will be extra special for 50 lucky fans, who will be able to meet Nicky on the night as part of a special “meet and greet” ticket package.
Last year alone, Yorkhill Children’s Charity raised over £4.3 million for Yorkhill and it will continue to support the new children’s hospital when it opens next year.
