The Poverty and Inequality Commission will have a key role in advising ministers and reviewing progress in reducing poverty and inequality in Scotland
Applicants are being sought to help fight poverty and inequality in Scotland.
The Poverty and Inequality Commission is looking for members from a range of backgrounds.
The new body replaces the existing non-statutory commission, which will continue to operate until 30 June 2019. It will have a key role in advising ministers and reviewing progress in reducing poverty and inequality in Scotland.
A statement from Aileen Campbell, Cabinet Secretary for Communities, and commission chairman Bill Scott said: “We are seeking to appoint up to eight members in order to ensure that as a whole the commission has the broad range of skills and experience needed.
“Individuals can have gained their experience in any setting, whether that be in their own life or through paid or voluntary work. What’s important is that candidates are passionate about the issues and ready to work together to make Scotland a better place.”
Applications are open until 1 April and those interested in applying can contact [email protected]
