Remade in Edinburgh and the Royal Zoological Society Scotland have been nominated for the Scottish Environment Business Awards

Charities are amongst the nominees for an awards ceremony which recognises commitment to environmental sustainability.

Remade in Edinburgh and the Royal Zoological Society Scotland are among the 43 best green businesses in Scotland.

The two organisations have been nominated for the Scottish Environment Business Awards, also known as the VIBES, in recognition of their commitment to tackling environmental challenges. They are run by the Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA)

The charities have been selected alongside businesses such as the Scotch Whisky Association and Clyde Shopping Centre.

Now in their 19th year, the awards urge Scotland's businesses to challenge their everyday working practices and embrace the economic opportunity of sustainability.

Remade in Edinburgh has been selected in the Circular Economy category, whilst the Royal Zoological Society Scotland is up for best Green Team.

Bob Downes, chair of SEPA and head of the VIBES judging panel, said: "The VIBES, Scottish Environment Business Awards, are a great chance to recognise business leadership in sustainable environmental investment.”

The winners will be announced at the awards ceremony which will be held on 14 November at Radisson Blu in Glasgow.
