Scottish aid charity scales up global operations

Mary’s Meals now feeds three million kids every day.

A Scottish aid charity has announced it has scaled up its global operations, with three million schoolchildren served meals every day.

Mary’s Meals has said it is now supporting children in 16 countries worldwide.

The increase to its current levels is up by over 800,000 since the start of 2024.

Writing on the charity’s website, founder Magnus MacFarlane-Burrow said: “As we celebrate the quite incredible fact that three million children are now eating Mary’s Meals every school day, we might consider that each one of them is a child with possibilities.

“And equally, so are all those millions of children still waiting for Mary’s Meals.

“Sometimes that important truth can be obscured when a child is unable to speak or get to school without help. In those situations, very little seems possible.”
