The Scotland Demands Better campaign has focused on next week’s budget.
With the countdown on until next week's pivotal UK budget, Scotland Demands Better has called on all Scottish MP's to be more vocal in their opposition to the 'cruel two-child limit policy'.
Charities and other groups involved say this must include the eradication of the unjust two-child limit.
Scotland Demands Better said they expect Scottish MPs to put pressure on the UK Government over their demands.
Peter Kelly chief executive of the Poverty Alliance and spokesperson for Scotland Demands Better said: "Inaction on the two-child limit is a policy choice that increases poverty, and is in direct contradiction to the UK Government’s own stated aims to tackle child poverty and increase living standards.
“The Scotland Demands Better campaign is absolutely clear that the UK Government must deliver a just and compassionate budget.
Evidence shows that abolishing the two-child limit should be the starting point of a successful Child Poverty Strategy.
“Scrapping the two-child limit is undoubtedly a vital stepping stone to turn the tide on indefensibly high levels of child poverty, and ensure that all households can live in decency and dignity, free from poverty.
“We are calling on all Scottish MPs from all political parties to be much more vocal in their opposition to this cruel policy. Our children deserve better than this policy and we want to see more activity from Scottish MPs in expressing their opposition to the two-child limit as we approach next week’s budget.
“It’s time for the UK Government to send a clear message that every child in this country matters and finally scrap this unjust policy.”
Justina Murray, CEO, Aberlour Children's Charity, added: "We know the single biggest action to reduce child poverty the UK Government can take right now is to end the cruel two-child limit. This is a policy that pushes children and families into poverty by its very design.
“Poverty is a political choice. The Chancellor can choose to use the upcoming budget to end the two child limit for good and to lift more than 300,000 children out of poverty. This is the clear and collective call from anti-poverty organisations, children’s charities and campaigners, as well as children and young people themselves. It is the right thing to do."
