SCVO asks members for policy priorities ahead of 2026 election

The voluntary sector has a chance to share their views.

Charities across Scotland are being invited to have their say on what they would like to see from political parties ahead of next year’s Holyrood election.

The Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations (SCVO), the national membership organisation for the voluntary sector, is asking its members to put forward their views on what should be prioritised in the Scottish Parliament after 2026.

The Scottish Elections 2026 Policy Engagement survey is live now, with engagement sessions also ongoing.

The topics covered include Fair Funding and procurement; regulation; and the voluntary sector's contribution to society and the economy.

Writing to its members, SCVO said: “It’s hard to believe, but the 2026 Scottish Parliament elections will be upon us in no time at all.

“We’re in the process of developing our policy asks, ahead of the election itself.

“Voluntary organisations are at different stages of preparing for the elections. We have no doubt that you will be putting your expertise – across a wide array of policy areas – to decision-makers, helping them to develop innovative solutions to issues facing our communities and our economy.

“Our focus, as ever, will be on those areas of work that impact the sector, improving the conditions in which voluntary organisations operate.”
