Participants will experience the magical light and sound displays as they complete the scenic route around the attraction
A fundraising event will see people of all ages take in one of Scotland’s most popular landmarks.
People across the country are being reminded that there is still time to sign up for this month’s Supernova Kelpies 5k run to raise much needed funds for Scotland’s only children’s hospice charity.
The enchanting event, which takes place at Falkirk’s Helix Park from 20 to 22 March, is open to people of all ages who wish to fundraise and/or experience the magical light and sound displays as they complete the scenic route around the majestic two 300-tonne Kelpies.
Children’s Hospices Across Scotland (CHAS) is looking for people to take on this family-friendly challenge and raise money to help support babies and children with life-shortening conditions and their families across Scotland.
Last year, 100 people ran the route on behalf of CHAS, raising £13,000 in the process.
Charlie Leavy, challenge events assistant at CHAS, said: “Last year we had multiple groups of CHAS runners decked out head-to-toe in neon gear, and we’re hoping for another great turnout this year.
“So many of our fundraisers last year told us how much they loved the spectacular light and sound displays, and we’ve been told the 2020 event will be even better.
“Every week in Scotland, three children with life-shortening conditions die, but currently CHAS only reach one of them. It’s through people’s pledges to fundraise and take part in events like the Supernova Kelpies 5k that will help CHAS reach every family who needs them.”
Participants running for CHAS at the Supernova Kelpies pay a £10 entry fee and endeavour to raise a minimum of £75 ahead of their run. To sign up, visit the CHAS website.
