Sir Tom teams up with Sir Chris for epic fundraiser

New fundraising charity bike ride launched by legendary Olympian

Kiltwalk is teaming up with Scotland’s greatest Olympian, Sir Chris Hoy, to help boost his Tour de 4 fundraising campaign for cancer charities.

Sir Tom Hunter broke the news in a video message to Kiltwalk supporters.

Hunter said: “We’re really looking forward to seeing you at a Kiltwalk in 2025 and we’ve got some big news for you.

“If you decide to walk for the Kiltwalk, the funds you raise will go towards helping our national treasure Sir Chris Hoy to raise money for his cancer charities.

“We’re very excited to have Sir Chris involved with Kiltwalk and we really want to support him.”

Tour de 4 is a new fundraising charity bike ride launched by Sir Chris to change the perception of people living with Stage 4 cancer and to raise funds for cancer charities across the UK.

The six-times Olympic champion disclosed he has terminal Stage 4 prostate cancer in October last year.

Kiltwalk raised over £7 million for 1,650 different charities last year.

This year marks Kiltwalk’s 10th year with The Hunter Foundation and anyone who chooses to walk for Kiltwalk itself, will see everything they raise, plus eligible Gift Aid, going to five cancer charities nominated by Sir Chris Hoy.

The Glasgow Kiltwalk will kick off the 2025 season with an additional 14-mile Big Stroll on Saturday 26 April to provide extra capacity after Glasgow registration sold out last year. All three distances – 23-mile Mighty Stride, 14-mile Big Stroll and the 3-mile Wee Wander – follow on Sunday 27 April.

Aberdeen takes place on Sunday 1 June, Dundee on Sunday 17 August and Edinburgh on Sunday 14 September. Entry remains priced at just £20 thanks to the support of The Hunter Foundation.
